The deal, in plain words.
These terms are the agreement between your business and Rehaul. We’ve kept them as short and plain as we can. Please read them before you pay.
The short version
- Looking at your free mockup costs nothing and commits you to nothing.
- If you prepay your first year, you get 50% off for two years. After that, your plan renews automatically every month at the regular price until you cancel.
- You can cancel online at any time. We remind you by email before your prepaid year ends and before your price goes up.
- We use AI to do most of the building and editing. Look over your site before it goes live and after each change.
- Your logo, photos and words stay yours. Your web address stays in your name.
- We make changes you ask for by email from the address we have on file, and we double-check anything a stranger might want to change.
About these terms
“We”, “us” and “Rehaul” mean Legal name (the LLC Nick is forming), doing business as Rehaul, at Mailing address. “You” means the business that signs up, and the person signing up for it.
Rehaul is for businesses, not for personal or household use. By signing up you confirm that you’re buying for a business and that you’re allowed to agree to these terms on its behalf.
You agree to these terms when you tick the box at checkout and pay. We keep a record of which version you agreed to and when. Questions about anything here: hello@rehaul.ai.
The free mockup
We sometimes find a business with a public website and build a free mockup of a new version of it, before anyone has asked. You may also have asked for one on our homepage. Either way:
- We build it from what’s on your current public website: your logo, photos, words and contact details.
- It’s free to look at, with no obligation. If you don’t sign up, you owe us nothing and these terms don’t bind you.
- It’s private. The link is hard to guess, has no business name in it, is hidden from search engines, is marked “design concept”, and expires (usually after 30 days). We don’t publish it or show it to anyone else.
- It’s a concept, not a finished site. It may contain mistakes, and some of it may be written or arranged by us rather than copied from your site.
- Reply “no thanks” (or email hello@rehaul.ai) and we delete it and stop contacting you.
If you own something shown in a mockup that was made for someone else, such as a photo, tell us and we’ll remove it (see Copyright complaints).
If you sign up, you confirm that we were welcome to use your materials to make the mockup, and the permission in Your logo, photos and words covers it from then on.
Plans and prices
There are three plans. Each one includes building your site, hosting it, and making updates as shown below. You can pay for a plan in one of two ways: prepay the first year (50% off for two years), or pay the regular monthly price from the start. Or you can buy the site outright with no plan.
| Plan | Basic | Plus | Pro |
|---|---|---|---|
| Regular monthly price | $150/mo | $200/mo | $400/mo |
| With prepay: first 12 months | $900 up front | $1,188 up front | $2,388 up front |
| With prepay: months 13 to 24 | $75/mo | $99/mo | $199/mo |
| With prepay: month 25 on | $150/mo | $200/mo | $400/mo |
| Build fee | None | None | None |
| Updates before launch | To be decided | To be decided | To be decided |
| Updates after launch | To be decided | To be decided | To be decided |
| Extra updates | $1,000 each | $1,000 each | $1,000 each |
Update allowances per plan are being redesigned and will be filled in before launch. “Update” is defined in Updates.
Why there’s no build fee. Buying a site outright costs $5,000 (see Buying your site outright). With a plan, we don’t charge that, because by the time you see your mockup we’ve already done much of the work.
About the “was” prices on our homepage. The struck-out monthly prices are the regular prices above, which anyone can choose. The struck-out $5,000 build fee is the real outright price. They aren’t made-up “before” prices.
Prices are in US dollars and don’t include any taxes that may apply. The checkout page shows the exact amount you’ll pay today and what you’ll pay after that.
Prepaying and automatic renewal
Your plan renews automatically until you cancel. Here’s exactly what happens if you prepay:
- Today.
You pay for your first 12 months up front ($900, $1,188 or $2,388).
- Month 13.
Your plan switches to monthly billing at 50% off ($75, $99 or $199 a month). We charge your card on file each month for 12 months.
- Month 25 onward.
Your plan keeps renewing each month at the regular price ($150, $200 or $400 a month) until you cancel.
If you pay monthly without prepaying, you pay the regular monthly price from the start, and your plan renews each month until you cancel.
Reminders we send. By email, to the address on file:
- Right after you sign up: a confirmation with your plan, what you’ll be charged and when, and how to cancel.
- Before your prepaid year ends: between 15 and 30 days before your first monthly charge, saying what it will be and how to cancel.
- Before your 50% off ends: between 7 and 21 days before your price goes up to the regular price, saying the new price and how to cancel.
- Once a year: a reminder of your plan, what you pay and how often, and how to cancel.
- If we ever change your price or your plan in some other way: notice between 7 and 30 days before the change, and how to cancel.
You can cancel at any time, online, as described in Cancelling and refunds. Cancelling stops future charges.
Buying your site outright
Instead of a plan, you can buy your site for $5,000, one time. There is no monthly charge and nothing renews.
- What you get: the finished site’s files (its pages, styles and images), ready to host wherever you like, and ownership of the design we made for you, as explained in Who owns what.
- What’s not included: hosting, connecting your web address, and changes after we hand over the files. Later changes are $1,000 per update if you’d like us to make them.
- Changes before hand-over: To be decided (how many updates are included before we deliver the files)
- When you get the files: To be decided (for example, within 5 business days after you approve the finished site)
- Refunds: To be decided (see the options in the review memo)
Cancelling and refunds
How to cancel. You can cancel online at any time, with no phone call needed:
- Use the cancel link in your sign-up confirmation or in any billing email from us. It opens your billing page at Stripe, our payment company, where you can cancel in a few clicks. A cancel link on our website: To be decided (being set up).
- Or email hello@rehaul.ai from the address on file with the word “cancel”. We’ll confirm within one business day.
We may ask you to confirm it’s really you, but we won’t make you jump through hoops. If we offer you a reason to stay, a plain way to finish cancelling will be right there with it.
When it takes effect. Cancelling stops all future charges. Your site stays up until the end of the period you’ve already paid for: the end of your prepaid year, or the end of the current month on monthly billing.
Refunds. To be decided (whether any part of a prepaid year is refunded if you cancel early, for example a full refund if you cancel before your site goes live) Monthly charges aren’t refunded for part of a month.
What happens to your site.
- Your site stays up for 30 days after your paid period ends, so you have time to sort out what’s next. Then we take it down. Your web address is yours, so you can point it anywhere you like.
- During those 30 days, you can restart your plan and nothing is lost.
- If you ask, we send you back your own materials: your logo, photos and words.
- The site’s design and files stay with us. They come with the plan, and paying monthly doesn’t buy them. If you’d like to keep the site itself, you can buy it outright for $5,000 (see Buying your site outright), and we’ll send you the files to host wherever you like.
- After the 30 days, we may delete your site and our copies of your materials, except records we have to keep.
Payments and missed payments
Payments are handled by Stripe. You authorize us to charge the card or account you gave at checkout for each charge described above, until you cancel. Keep your payment details up to date.
If a payment fails, Stripe tries again over the following days and we email you. If it still hasn’t gone through after 14 days, we take your site offline until it’s paid, and we put it back up once it is. If it’s still unpaid after 30 days, we cancel your plan, and the cancellation steps above apply (your site stays offline during the 30 days that follow).
If you think we charged you by mistake, email us within 60 days of the charge and we’ll look into it.
Updates
An update is one request, in one message, to change what’s on your site. It’s the same whether we’re still building your site or it’s already live. For example:
- Adding or removing team members.
- Changing your address, hours or phone number.
- Swapping the main photo, or adding photos of recent jobs.
- Rewording a section, or adding a service you offer.
A list of related changes in one email counts as one update. Requests sent in separate messages count separately, unless we treat them as one.
What doesn’t count as an update: fixing a mistake we made, fixing your site if it isn’t working, and questions about billing or cancelling. Those are free.
What’s bigger than an update: a new page, a new feature (like online booking or a shop), or a redesign. We’ll tell you what that would cost before we start, and we only go ahead if you say yes.
Your allowance. Each plan includes the updates shown in Plans and prices. Extra updates are $1,000 each, and we always ask before charging for one. Whether unused updates carry over to the next period: To be decided
Asking for changes by email
You ask for changes by email, in plain words. Here’s how we keep that safe:
- We act on requests from the email address on file for your business. Requests from any other address get a reply to the address on file first.
- Some changes need a “YES”. Before we change your phone number, email, address, links, or anything else someone pretending to be you might want to change, we email the address on file and wait for you to reply YES. If the email address itself is changing, we ask the old one.
- We can say no, or ask first. If a request looks unusual, could hurt your business, or might not be from you, we can ask you to confirm it some other way, or decline it.
- Keep your inbox safe. Anyone who can send email from your account can ask us for changes. Use a strong password and tell us right away if your email is hacked or the right contact changes.
We aren’t responsible for a change made because of a message that really came from, or was confirmed from, the email address on file. If a change was made that you didn’t want, tell us and we’ll put it back for free.
How we build: AI, and checking your site
We use AI to do most of the building and editing, working from your own site’s logo, photos and words. That’s how it takes hours instead of weeks, and why it costs less. Our system checks each site and each change before it goes live. Whether a person on our team also looks over each one: To be decided
AI can get things wrong. It can misread your old site, put a detail in the wrong place, or word something in a way you wouldn’t. So:
- Please look over your site before you approve it to go live, and check each change when we tell you it’s live.
- You’re responsible for what your site says about your business: prices, licenses, service areas, claims and the like. We work from what you gave us or what was on your old site, but you know your business best.
- If you spot a mistake we made, tell us and we’ll fix it for free. It won’t use up an update.
Some pictures, icons or wording on your site may be made with AI or come from licensed stock libraries. We don’t promise that a design or wording is unique to your site, or that AI-made parts can be protected by copyright.
Your logo, photos and words
“Your materials” means your logo, photos, words, reviews, names and anything else that came from your current website or that you send us.
- You still own them. Nothing in these terms takes that away.
- You give us permission to copy, edit, resize, arrange and publish your materials, only to build, host, update and back up your site and to talk with you about it. That permission lasts while we work for you and through the grace period after you cancel.
- You promise you have the right to let us use them. That includes photos a photographer or stock site licensed to you, and pictures or names of your staff and customers. If something on your current site isn’t yours to reuse, tell us and we’ll leave it out.
- You promise your materials are accurate and don’t break the law (see What can’t go on your site).
We may show your site as an example of our work: To be decided (if yes, you’d be able to opt out at any time)
Who owns what
- Your materials are always yours.
- On a plan: while your plan is active, you can use your site for your business. We own the design and code we made for it, and we let you use them for as long as you’re paying. When your plan ends, that permission ends too: you don’t get the site’s design or files unless you buy the site outright for $5,000. You always get your own materials back if you ask.
- Bought outright: once you’ve paid the $5,000 in full, we transfer to you whatever rights we have in the design and files we made for your site. You can host, change and reuse them as you like.
- What stays ours either way: our own tools, software, templates, methods and know-how, including the system that builds and runs sites. We can keep using general ideas, techniques and reusable pieces of code. We won’t reuse your materials or make another site that copies your look.
- Things owned by others: fonts, stock photos, icons and other outside pieces stay owned by their makers. You can use them on your site under their own licenses. If one can’t move with your site, we’ll tell you and help you swap it.
Hosting, your web address and credit on your site
Hosting. Every plan includes hosting your site on the services we use. We work to keep it fast and online, but we can’t promise it will never go down. If it does, we’ll fix it as soon as we can.
Your web address stays in your name, wherever you bought it. You keep paying for it and renewing it with your provider. We send step-by-step instructions to point it at your new site, or do it with you on a call. We never ask for your password and never change your email settings, so your email keeps working. If your web address lapses or someone else changes it, your site may stop showing, and that isn’t something we control.
Credit on your site. Whether plan sites show a small “site by Rehaul” link at the bottom: To be decided (sites bought outright would never need one)
What can’t go on your site
You can’t ask us to put anything on your site, or use it in a way, that:
- Breaks the law, or advertises something illegal.
- Uses someone else’s photos, logo, words or trademarks without permission.
- Is false or misleading about your business, such as fake reviews or licenses you don’t hold.
- Is hateful, threatening, harassing, or sexually explicit.
- Shares someone’s private information without their permission.
- Spreads malware, phishing or spam, or tries to break into our systems or anyone else’s.
If we believe something breaks these rules, or we get a complaint about it, we can remove it or take the page offline, and we’ll tell you why. If it’s serious or keeps happening, we can end your service (see When we can end the service).
Copyright complaints
If you think a site or mockup we host uses your work without permission, send a notice to our copyright agent: Agent details (to be registered with the U.S. Copyright Office), or hello@rehaul.ai.
Please include: what work you think was copied; where it appears on our sites (the web address); your name, address, phone and email; a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn’t authorized; a statement that your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you own the work or may act for its owner; and your signature.
We’ll remove or disable the material quickly. If it was on a customer’s site, we’ll let them know, and they can send a counter-notice if they think we made a mistake. We end service for customers who repeatedly post work they don’t have the right to use.
When we can end the service
We can suspend or end your service if you don’t pay, if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if keeping your site up would put us or others at legal risk. Where we can, we’ll warn you first and give you a chance to fix it.
We can also stop offering Rehaul, or end your plan for any other reason, by giving you at least 30 days’ notice by email. If we do that, we’ll refund any part of a prepaid period you haven’t used yet and send you back your own materials.
Promises we don’t make, and limits
No extra promises. We work hard on every site, but apart from what these terms say, we provide Rehaul “as is”. We don’t promise that your site will bring you more customers or a better search ranking, will never go down, or will be free of every mistake. To the extent the law allows, we don’t give any implied promises, such as that the service is fit for a particular purpose.
Limit on what we owe. To the extent the law allows:
- We aren’t responsible for lost profits, lost business, lost data, or other indirect or knock-on losses, even if we knew they could happen.
- The most we’ll owe you for all claims together is what you paid us in the 12 months before the problem happened, or $100 if that’s more.
These limits don’t apply to fraud, harm we cause on purpose or through gross negligence, or anything else the law doesn’t let us limit.
Claims about your materials. If someone makes a legal claim against us because of your materials, your instructions, or what you sell, you’ll cover our reasonable costs and any amount we have to pay, including reasonable lawyers’ fees. We’ll tell you about the claim promptly and let you help handle it.
Disagreements and which law applies
Talk to us first. If something goes wrong, email hello@rehaul.ai and tell us what happened and what you’d like us to do. We’ll both try in good faith to sort it out within 30 days before either of us goes to court.
California law. These terms are governed by California law and applicable U.S. federal law.
Where. Any lawsuit goes to the state or federal courts in County County, California. Either of us can use small claims court instead, if the claim qualifies.
Notices and changes to these terms
Email is how we talk. You agree that we can send notices, reminders, receipts and other messages about your plan by email to the address on file, and that they count as being “in writing”. Notices to us go to hello@rehaul.ai.
Changing these terms. We may update these terms. For any change that matters, we’ll email you at least 30 days before it takes effect and post the new version here with its date. If you don’t agree, you can cancel before then. Price changes follow the notice rules in Prepaying and automatic renewal. A change never applies to a disagreement that started before it.
Everything else
- Whole agreement. These terms, plus what you agreed to at checkout, are the whole agreement between us. If a written quote we send you says something different about a specific job, the quote wins for that job.
- Things outside anyone’s control. Neither of us is responsible for delays caused by things we can’t reasonably control, such as outages at our providers, natural disasters or internet failures.
- Transfers. You can’t transfer your plan without our OK. We can transfer these terms if Rehaul is sold or reorganized, and we’ll tell you.
- If a part doesn’t hold up. If a court finds part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies.
- No waiver. If we don’t enforce something right away, we can still enforce it later.
- What survives. Ownership, the limits above, claims about your materials, and the dispute rules still apply after your plan ends.
